First United Reformed Church of Oak Lawn
Preparing for Corporate Worship - Sunday, January 19, 2025
Services at 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM
Dear Friends,
Another week is nearly over and the Lord's day is close at hand. How has your Bible reading been? Has the Lord heard you seeking Him and His mercy in prayer? These are the normal rhythms of the Christian day and week. I pray you have found great comfort from God in Christ this week. Many of you have had and are having challenges. Please remember that your brothers and sisters have been praying for you. Let's join together on Sunday for the fellowship of the saints in the presence of our Father in heaven.

-MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
The morning of the Lord's day brings us to that very deep text of Mark 15.33, 34. As I said last Sunday, this text is almost un-preach-able. What I mean is it is incredibly hard for mere humans (like me) to fully grasp what is going on when Jesus speaks those words - but then to also preach well on that text....please be in prayer

EVENING WORSHIP SERVICE
In the evening we will take the amazing verses of Romans 6.1-14 with help from the Heidelberg Catechism Lord's days 26 & 27 to see why we should "remember our baptism." We really need baptism! Come Sunday night to find out why

---------------
Please pray that all would be done to the glory of the Lord and for our good. Pray for strength and wisdom as we prepare soon to enter a new year.
May our kind and strong God bless and keep each of you toward the Lord's day upcoming.
Please pray that each ear will be open, all hearts soft to receive, and our hands and feet and mouths ready to respond to all our God tells us.

---------------
May you have a fruitful day and a joy about returning to the house of the Lord!
It will be a blessing to see you in church. Let's pray that the Lord is glorified in our gathering together and we each are edified in Christian truth
May each of you know His great mercy!
May the Lord receive the honor and glory from everything we do.
May the Lord richly bless each of you as you prepare for the Lord's day.

Please be much in prayer for worship on the Lord's day

There is no better place to be on Sunday!
